Organizers of the Laguna Beach Patriots Day Parade have chosen “Never Forget” as the theme for their 46th parade on Saturday, March 3.

Nominations are being taken for grand marshal, honored patriot (army), citizen of the year, artist of the year and athlete of the year. Additionally, would be parade volunteers are welcome to attend the committee’s next meeting, Wednesday, Nov. 2. at 7 p.m. or to help on parade day.

“Our theme reminds us that as Americans we hold dear the idea of a quest for a better life,” said committee treasurer Sandi Werthe. “We recall how our nation and communities such as ours united and rose to combat fascism, totalitarianism, and global terrorism.  We cherish and preserve the memory of those who sacrificed their lives that we might live in freedom and peace.  Never forget our flag and those who defend it.”

The committee recently elected Ed Hanke II as president. Continuing to serve are Charles Quilter, Nina Rietsch and Sandi Werthe.

For further information, call Sandi Werthe at (949) 494-6016 or [email protected].
