The Laguna Beach Community Clinic recently received a gift of $50,000 from the William and Sue Gross Family Foundation.
Nick Gross, son of the foundation’s founders, who are local residents, personally delivered the check to 362 Third Street. “Nick really did his research on the role of the clinic including its history and service to our community,” said Dr. Tom Bent, medical director. “We were all impressed by Nick, who is a young, bright philanthropist.”
“This generous grant will help us to address growing community needs in a time of diminishing resources,” said Bent, who will apply the grant towards physician salaries along with general clinical expenses. “State health program cuts along with increasing demands for primary medical care have challenged our resources.”
The clinic aims to provide excellent medical care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.
