Resort Revitalizes and Refurbishes
Surf & Sand Resort recently completed a $3 million renovation of its 167 guest rooms and 13 suites with ocean colors and natural tones that are reflected in textiles and custom furnishings.
The restoration extends a more modern aesthetic to the pool deck, Aquaterra Spa, and Splashes Restaurant.
“Our guests have always come to us for that authentic Laguna Beach experience, where you are so close to the ocean you can smell it, hear it and feel the mist from the waves,” said Blaise Bartell, vice president of operations for resort owner JC Resorts.

Singing for an Upgrade
San Francisco-based Joie de Vivre’s hotel properties, including Pacific Edge in Laguna Beach, are offering room upgrades to guests who sing upon check-in.
Each property has its own song list for guests to choose from, including everything from “California Gurls” by Katy Perry to “Hotel California” by The Eagles.
The first guest to sing a song will get the prize for the day, their performance will be captured on video and uploaded for the chance to win a two-night stay based on the number of votes the video receives on Youtube and Facebook.
If the upgrade has already been redeemed for the day, guests will still be eligible to enter the video contest, which will be awarded in October. The promotion ends Sept. 30. Visit www.jdvsocalhotels.com.
