The Aliso Canyon and Woods Wilderness Park is offering a variety of hikes and a bike ride during the month of August.
An easy early evening hike will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m., on a level and moderate three-mile hike through riparian landscape and open grass land, beginning at Ranger Headquarters, Gate 1.
Stretch your mind and body on a 2.4-mile yoga hike on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 9-10:30 a.m. at the Canyon View Staging Area, Gate 7.
Explore the trails on a Saturday, Aug. 13, hike with OC Parks Ranger Portia Arutunian from 8 to 9:30 a.m., departing from the Ranger Headquarters Gate 1.
For expectant mothers or anyone carrying a baby in a pack, sling or backpack, there will be a brisk two-mile hike with fairly steep terrain. This baby and me hike will take place at the Canyon View Staging Area, Gate 7, on Monday, Aug. 15 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Each excursion is led by a Laguna Canyon Wilderness Volunteer and a $2 donation is required as well as a $3 parking fee. For more information of the hikes or to sign-up visit www.lagunacanyon.org/activities or call 949-923-2235.
