Laguna Beach artist Hedy Buzan Williamson teaches a printmaking class at Saddleback College that begins Aug. 23 and promises to expand the repertoire of printmakers with instruction on new techniques.
The syllabus includes monotypes, drypoint, carborundum collagraph and paper lithography.
Class meets each Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the roomy Saddleback print studio. This is a workshop environment, and a complete gamut of oil inks are included in the course fees. ART 62 and ART 189 run concurrently.
ART 62 Intaglio and Relief III is open to experienced printmakers.
ART 189 The Altered Format is open to artists who wish to explore printmaking.
The course begins with a relief print to familiarize the student with the presses and other resources and then expands to include the techniques listed above. At least two impressions produced over the course of the semester must be in a “non traditional” format such as miniature, oversize, diptych, or extended format.
