Experienced genealogical researchers from Daughters of the American Revolution will provide a free Genealogy Workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 12:30 p.m., at the Susi Q Community Center, 380 Third St.
This workshop is designed to jump-start the beginning genealogist as well as enhance the research of advanced projects. There will be handouts, hands-on guidance, and other resources that will allow you to start or improve your family research.
“There has been a growing interest in genealogy in the past few years, in part due to popular television programs such as ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ where celebrities search for their ancestors,” said Dorothy Kerig, regent of the Patience Wright Chapter of DAR based in Laguna Beach. “In addition, there has been a large increase in the amount and accessibility of historical information and documents available through the Internet.”
This free workshop is open to anyone interested in tracing their family tree as well as those interested in joining DAR.
