More than $11,000 was raised at Laguna Beach Seniors’ 19th annual holiday lunch this past Monday, contributing toward the non profit’s $500,000 a year operating budget, reported Executive Director Nadia Babiya.
“We must continue to raise funds to keep our core programs functioning. We must attract new members and design and redesign programs that are driven by their needs,” she told a festive crowd at Tivoli Terrace, entertained by guest vocalists as well as Patrick Quilter, performing on the ukelele. Quilter, whose mother is namesake for the Susi Q Center, announced a $5,000 challenge grant that was quickly matched.
