Youth Runs up Wins at Championship Races

Laguna Beach’s Claire Kelly, 10, took first place, and Joey Gallegos, 12, third, in two and three kilometer races by age group, respectively, at the Youth Cross Country Championship on Sunday, Dec. 4 in Torrance.
This was Kelly and Gallegos’ first cross country event, but both trained locally with Fred Pichay’s clinic, which continues through Feb. 26.
