Of course construction was stopped. It's Laguna, remember? Restaurants closing, business' harassed, private and commercial construction made as difficult as humanly possible... We must protect our historical character no matter how much it costs....the other guy.......

Laguna is really a microcosm of California. With an ever escalating agenda of PC/Green/Governmental Control it will, inevitably, grind to a halt. The balance has tipped way too far to the 'you can't do that' position.

And, regarding Kelly Boyd, I agree with Mark Scott: thank goodness he is on the Council. His family has lived here for many generations. Laguna isn't just a 'neat place' to him. It's his home.

Dear Ms Christoph,

Please do more research prior to writing a biased opinion based on untrue information. People like you are the reason we never opened up the house for public view. As my mother always said, we had enough looky-loos. “Public view”, this was and is a private residence. What part of private do you not understand? It’s sad but Laguna seems to have headed into a kitsch type of Disneyland for the wealthy since the time my family lived there. Your statement on change “Losses to our historical character, working for the positive issues we all support, so that Laguna stays Laguna, and becomes even better.” makes me think your part of the problem. Who’s “historical character” and who are the “we all” that you are speaking about? Laguna has not been the Laguna I grew up in and loved since the late 60’s and your signature of “Love it or Leave it” I once saw is reason enough to leave it. I don’t know and have never spoken to the new owners but this house is drastically in need of repair. It’s interesting that I was told the only no vote for halting construction was by Kelly Boyd. Good for you Kelly, at least you’re an alumnus of Laguna. It must be tough!
