Multi-faith Prayer Breakfast Set
The Laguna Beach Interfaith Council invites all residents and guests to its fifth annual prayer breakfast corresponding with the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 3, at 8:30 a.m. at Mission Hospital, 31872 S. Coast Highway.
Two speakers will take up this year’s topic, “Service is a Form of Prayer: Let it Begin with Me!” Laguna Beach’s Rev. Rosalind Russell of R Star Foundation and Joyce Hansen of Rising Star Outreach will focus on the “star” qualities of volunteerism and honor several volunteers.
A special performance by the Latter Day Saint’s Children’s Choir of “Let There be Peace on Earth” is also scheduled.

Learn New Ways to Pray
Laguna Presbyterian Church invites people to prayer instruction and practice.
On Friday, April 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Mary Cannon will teach Lectio Divina, a method of praying with the Bible. A final session in this series at 415 Forest Ave. will be on May 4 when Deborah Sakach will facilitate the Prayer of Examen.
On the National Day of Prayer, May 3, the church opens its sanctuary, from noon to 1 p.m., for silent worship.

Laguna Beach author Cathleen Falsani will be waxing fantastic about “gracespotting” during a guest appearance at Mariners Church’s “girl’s night out” event Friday, April 27, in Irvine, 5001 Newport Coast Dr., from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Entry is $5. Coffee and chocolate are rumored to be served.
Discover the Secrets of Marriage
Kabbalah of Marriage, a series of classes on the secrets of successful marriage, will begin on Wednesday, May 9,at Chabad Jewish Center, 30804 S. Coast Highway.
Regardless of marital status, all are invited to attend the six-session course, presented by the JLI Rohr Jewish Learning Institute and taught by Rabbi Eli Goorevitch.
