About 100 people attended a golf tournament at the Aliso Creek course to support rebuilding the Laguna Beach animal shelter last month, raising $2,100 through the event hosted by Protecting Unwanted Pets (PUP) Laguna Beach and Hennessey’s Tavern.

Supporters turned out for a nine-hole round of golf at the scenic course, followed by an afternoon of lunch, raffle prizes and cocktails at Hennessey’s in Laguna Beach.

Hennessey’s general manager Dan Lang and his staff assisted by serving as caddies-for-hire to hosting a raffle. Prizes included golf bags, gift certificates to local restaurants, wine and movie passes.

The shelter remains open in a temporary location at 2093 Laguna Canyon Road; the permanent location at 20613 Laguna Canyon Road is set to re-open after remodeling is completed in late summer.
