Three local artists tap into mobile phone technology to transform the gallery exhibition “A Moment in Time,” with a reception at Seven Degrees on Thursday, July 5, from 6-9 p.m.

Artists Roark Gourley, Robert Celecia and Michelle Lance will explore an application that allows the public to interact with their work. Using familiar Laguna Beach locations, the artists have created “auras” – visual touch points that trigger the display of video and images from the exhibition on hand-held devices. The free Roark Studios App is supposed to be available shortly from iTunes and Google Play, says a statement.

Auras, with locations identified on a map, as well as Auras that are integral to each piece of art in the show will trigger videos, slide shows, animations, or 3D objects that continue to be available after the works are purchased.
