Robert A. Hansen at FOA South

FOA South, the satellite gallery for the Festival of Arts in the HIP district features Robert A. Hansen: A Journey through Jan. 10.

The gallery, located at 1006 S. Coast Hwy. is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

“As an artist evolves many varied circumstances influence their growth.  Searching for his or her ‘truth’ is key to exercising the freedom of creativity,” says curator Pat Sparkuhl. “Robert’s exploration has been an examination of image making surrounding the history and people of Southern Mexico leading to the region of Yucatan. This exhibit presents an intimate look at the journey(s) Robert has experienced in the 10+ years of photographing the scenes and people that reflect this unique and historic culture.”

Reception for Rosalie at Violet Boutique

Violet Boutique, 241 Forest Ave., hosts a reception for Laguna Beach artist Rosalie from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22.

Rosalie is a Sawdust Art Festival exhibitor who is known for her one-of-a-kind vintage style handbags and expressionist-style paintings, both of which will be on display at the reception.

Inspired by the German expressionists and the Fauve movement of the 1920s, Rosalie’s paintings evoke an emotion or story that show a connection to who we are and where we are going that the viewer can interpret through line, color movement and form.

Rosalie began creating her unique bags in 2006 as a means to aid her recovery from breast cancer.  Each bag is a unique design that she never duplicates.

For further information, contact Violet Boutique, at 949-842-7300, RSVP [email protected].
