Public Invited to Art Dedication

The public is invited to the 4 p.m. dedication Saturday, July 16, of “From the Beginning,” in the public parking lot at Seacove Drive and South Coast Highway.

 

Jorge Fernandez’s bronze sculptures of native Americans installed on a rock base is now accompanied by another large boulder and bus bench. The latter was installed with support from the South Laguna Civic Assoc., according to a recent newsletter.

 

 

 

Showcasing Art for State Parks

“Summertime at the Cove”,  a plein air art show and sale, will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the newly restored education commons, located in the historic district of Crystal Cove State Park in Newport Coast.

About 30 artists will display work available for sale. Proceeds will benefit restoration, education, and conservation efforts by Crystal Cove State Park’s concessionaire, Crystal Cove Alliance.

Blake Artists in Pop-up  Galleries

Peter Blake Gallery artists will be showcasing their work across various venues in Laguna Beach.

Artist Jeff Peters will debut his new paintings to July 31 at 225 Forest Ave.

Jorg Dubin presents “Plane Air Power” from its opening reception on July 21, from 6-8 p.m., to Oct. 16 at Orange County Great Park’s Palm Court & Squadron Center Arts Complex.

Through Oct. 2, “Lita Albuquerque: Emergence” will be on display at the Laguna Art Museum, 307 Cliff Drive.

Art Lovers Journey Into Glass

Laguna Art Museum members are welcome to join the Contemporary Collectors’ Council on a four-day art trip Sept. 15-18 as they explore contemporary art and culture in Seattle.

 The itinerary includes public and private collections and immersion into studio glass at the renowned Pilchuck Glass School, the studio of Dale Chihuly and Tacoma’s Museum of Glass and Art Museum.
