CES’s show includes Robert Larson’s “Blue Honey.”

Carl Smith’s CES Contemporary is hosting a group show that opens on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 480 Ocean Ave.

The exhibition, “Quadrivium,” a Latin word referring to the main subjects of a classical education, is  represented in the works of Lola Dupré, Shuske Ao, Jordan Clark, Gordon Magnin, Robert Larson, Val Britton, Irina and Silviu Szekely and Justin Angelos.


An Artist Pays Tribute to a Town Jewel

The Cottage Gallery will unveil Patrick Whelan’s last work, “Heisler Park,” in receptions Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23 and 24, 6 – 9 p.m. and 1 – 7 p.m. respectively.

The park tribute can be seen at 1524 S. Coast Hwy.


Jackson Retrospective Opens

Orange County Museum of Art is organizing its first retrospective of radical Los Angeles artist Richard Jackson, opening Sunday, Feb. 17 in Newport Beach, 850 San Clemente St.

Jackson’s OCMA exhibit is the only American presentation of  “Ain’t Painting a Pain”.
