Longtime Laguna Beach resident, artist and author September McGee recently re-located to Silver Spring, Md., to be closer to family.

A local since 1990, McGee exhibited for 21 years at the Sawdust Art Festival and at the Festival of Arts for the past two years. She also taught art classes with Laguna Outreach for Community Arts and Laguna Art Museum.

Her work is among the city’s collection of holiday palettes and street banners and was published as the covers of local guide books, posters and catalogues.

Nevertheless, missing her family, McGee decided to move closer to her sisters and daughter Kailee.

“I’ve had so much fun living in Laguna. I will miss everyone.  I want to thank each and everyone I have met for helping me have the most wonderful 23 years in Laguna,” she said in a statement. “I plan on spending more time with my family and intend to continue to advance my art career nationally as well as publish my next book! I do hope you all stay in touch.”

McGee is represented by Exposures International Gallery, in Sedona, Ariz., and the Greenberg Fine ArtGallery, in Santa Fe, N.M. She can be reached at:  [email protected].
