Assistance League of Laguna Beach has chosen Jon Madison as its Businessman of the Year. Madison hosted the Assistance League’s “Friend Raiser” at his Madison Square and Garden Cafe. The event drew nearly 300 “friends,” each gaining admission by donating a “treasure” to the Assistance League Thrift Shop, the primary funding source for the organization’s philanthropic programs.
Refreshments and the venue were donated by Madison, who also recently donated a fountain to grace the entrance of the Thrift Shop.
Madison has offered to host this year’s Friend Raiser on September 29. He expects the event to be even more successful with the addition of a fashion show and live music.
