Enterprising residents imitated New York’s New Year’s Eve ball drop with one atop Aliso Peak, cheered by scores of residents below. Unfortunately, the sender did not include their identity. Police made five DUI arrests during the night’s revelry compared to last year’s three. One included a Laguna Beach man who struck and injured a Laguna Hills woman in a Glenneyre Street crosswalk.
