Two young Laguna Beach residents, fifth-grader Annika McGraw, 11, and second-grader Molly Renner, 8, both students at St. Catherine of Siena Parish School, recently held their third annual “Birthday Skate Party” to raise money for their favorite charity, Project Cuddle, which helps save babies from abandonment.

In a charitable twist on the birthday gift-giving tradition, each year the two young philanthropists jointly hold a skate party for their birthdays and collect donations to Project Cuddle in lieu of presents. This year their party attracted 108 skaters. Donations, which have continued to pour in, currently total $4,600.

As Annika’s mom Anne McGraw said, it’s “pretty great for two little girls!”
