Laguna Beach’s Blue Lagunas fought their way to victory against the top eight teams in the county to become AYSO EXTRA Program section champions in the girls under 10 division.
Results of the Champions Cup matches last weekend were: 0-0 tie vs. Tustin; 4-1 victory vs. North Irvine;, 2-1 victory over Yorba Linda in the semi-final; and 2-1 victory over Long Beach in the final.
“It was the culmination of four seasons of hard work that the girls have put in, which all came together over four games this weekend. To say we are proud of these 10 young ladies is an understatement,” said Coach Ole Nielsen.
Having won the Cup, the Blue Lagunas have now qualified to play for the state championships in March.
