Will and Tammy Dowell plan a garage sale and bake sale fundraiser this Saturday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 911 Tia Juana Street, in Arch Beach Heights, to raise money for the parents of William McMurray, an 11-year-old local boy recently diagnosed with a brain tumor.
The Dowells intend to hold a sale every Saturday they have enough to sell. Anyone can drop off unneeded items to contribute towards the sale, Dowell said. “Our goal is $2000 but we hope to exceed that.”
“My Will has never met William McMurray but has a special feeling that although we do not have a lot to give we need to help,” said Dowell, who says her son shares the McMurray boy’s name and age.
Tag items so far include Xbox system and games, toys, action figures, books, beanie babies, clothing, board games, aquarium, household items, linens, books, CDs, DVDs.
