Boys Basketball (8-9)
Breakers competed last week in the Governor’s Division of the 25th Annual Under Armour Holiday Classic in San Diego. The 16-team division was held at Carlsbad High School, one of five play sites for the event. Breakers finished 15th after dropping a 71-62 game to Horizon Christian of El Cajon before defeating San Diego’s Madison 60-56 on the tournament’s last day.
Final Tournament Standings: 1 – Knight, 2 – Coronado (NV), 3 – Murrieta Valley, 4 – Sunnyslope (AZ), 5 – Godinez, 6 – California, 7 – Carson (NV), 8 – Westview, 9 – Poway, 10 – Aliso Niguel, 11 – Sweetwater, 12 – Spanish Springs (NV), 13 – Horizon, 14 – Carlsbad, 15 – Laguna Beach, 16 – Madison.
Laguna will host Capo Valley Christian on Friday, Jan. 9, and Saddleback on Friday, Jan 16, both with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
