Laguna ran their win streak over CdM to six with another decisive this past Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Corona pool. Bella Baldridge got things going with a score off a counter play mid-way through the opening period. She then fed Haley Evans on back-to-back possessions for scores pushing the Laguna margin to 3-0 after the initial period. Breakers led 6-0 midway in the final period scoring on a penalty shot by Sophie Leggett after Natalie Selin drew the five-meter call. After that, Laguna started to clear the bench and Corona finally got on the scoreboard snapping a seven quarter drought against the Breakers. Breaker JV continued their run with the Sea Queens too taking a 7-4 win.
Laguna 21, Costa Mesa 1
In a rare home game in the undersized local pool, Breakers easily thrashed the Mustangs in league play Wednesday, Jan. 20. The lone Mesa goal came off a deflected field block that just skipped past Thea Walsh in the cage. Laguna has now won 38 consecutive league matches dating back to 2006.

Laguna played at Saddleback this past Wednesday and travels to Riverside this Saturday, January 30 to face ML King (#2 D-3 school) at Riverside Poly. Match time is 10AM. Next week the Breakers will be defending their So Cal Tournament title in the 21st annual event at Irvine. Finals will be Saturday at the Woollett Center next to Irvine High School about 3PM.
