Blake Burzell, a 6’ 4” freshman, scored 24 points in his debut to lead Laguna to a 57-35 win over Anaheim on Monday, Dec. 1, in the opening round of the Godinez Tournament at the Grizzly Gym. The win over the Colonists was only the second in the 14-game series with the school and the first in 77 seasons. On Tuesday, Burzell scored 18 but the Aliso Niguel Wolverines won 61-48. Spencer Wong added 12 in the effort.
Breakers conclude tournament play with the final games at Godinez on Saturday, Dec. 6. Laguna opens at home on Wednesday, Dec. 10, when they host Dana Hills at 7 p.m. in their 40th all-time meeting with the Dolphins.
