Bryce William Halbert of Laguna Niguel, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012. He was 43.

Bryce underwent emergency abdominal surgery while on vacation with his family and friends in Cabo San Lucas. A few days after the surgery he developed a pulmonary embolism and pulmonary edema, which ultimately led him into cardiac arrest. His family is devastated by the loss of someone so young and so loved.

Bryce was born on May 18, 1969, in Teaneck, N.J. His family moved to Laguna Beach when he was 2 years old. Bryce attended Laguna Beach High School and continued on to receive a bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from San Diego State University. He had a successful 13-year career at Brand ID LLC in Costa Mesa.

Bryce is survived by his wife Tricia, four children, Cole, Will, Tess and Brynn; parents, Bill and Ginny Halbert of Laguna Beach; sister Lyn Hubert of San Diego; sister Jill Greer of Laguna Niguel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bryce was a loving husband, dedicated family man and compassionate friend. He had a love for sports and especially enjoyed coaching his kids. To many young and old, he was a respected role model. He cared deeply for others and had an ability to make everyone feel special. Bryce will be remembered by all for his unique sense of humor, easygoing demeanor and incredible capacity for love.

Services will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m. at South Shores Christian Church, 32712 Crown Valley Parkway, in Dana Point.

Our hearts ache for all that he was; husband, father, son, friend and more. In lieu of flowers, tributes may be given to The Halbert Family Trust at P.O. Box 4156, Dana Point, Calif., 92629.
