The ninth annual Laguna Beach Fête de la Musique, a day of free music celebrating the start of summer internationally, will take place in downtown Laguna Beach on Saturday, June 18.

Performances will take place mostly at 35 outdoor locations along Forest Avenue, Ocean Avenue and on the cobblestones from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Performers include Denmantau, The Budrows, Bluegrass County and The Agave Brothers.

On the Main Beach cobblestones, face painting and costuming set the mood for a children’s parade taking place at 12:30 p.m. with music provided by the Swing Set Band. Opening ceremonies follow at 1 p.m. with Mayor Steve Dicterow and a representative from the French consulate in Los Angeles. Ten-year old Sydney Halk will sing the national anthem, and Lisa Morrice will be performing the French version, “La Marsellaise.”

Students will also perform in the Rose Garden of Laguna Presbyterian Church, 415 Forest Ave.

The event will conclude with a short ceremony at 4 p.m. on the cobblestones. More info: www.lagunabeachsistercities.com/fetedelamusique
