Citizens Needed to Serve on City Committees

Laguna Beach is accepting applications for three people on the South Laguna Water & Sewer Advisory Committee as well as four people interested in serving on the Emergency/Disaster Preparedness Committee.

The water and sewer committee is comprised of two board members from South Coast Water District, two councilmembers, the city manager, the district’s general manager and three South Laguna citizens, who are appointed by the City Council to serve four-year terms.

The purpose of the committee is to address water and sewer services in South Laguna, to monitor water and sewer services and rates to ensure that the residents of South Laguna are treated equitably by the district. The terms of the three current citizen representatives expire on June 30.

Applicants to the both committees must be residents. They are required to submit an application by 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, available at the city clerk’s office or on the city’s web site at lagunabeachcity.net.

Applicants will be interviewed by the City Council at the June 19 meeting, 505 Forest Ave.
