DAR Awards Laguna Students 

Laguna Beach students were to be recognized on Wednesday, May 7, at 3:30 p.m. at the Laguna Beach Artists’ Theatre by the Laura Howe Ghahreman and the Patience Wright, Laguna Beach chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The awards will be given to students in the fifth through the 12th grade, including two senior awards, the American History Essay award and a Citizenship award.

Schools Receive Festival of Arts Grants

The Festival of Arts Foundation recently awarded $26,000 in grants to Laguna Beach High School and Thurston Middle School to enhance education and multimedia production as well as visual, music and performing arts programs.

Grants of $5,000 each were received for LBHS programs in arts, music, ceramics, dance and performing arts; and $1,000 was contributed to a Thurston multimedia production class.

Alumni Hold Reunion

Over 300 people attended the Laguna Beach High School all-class reunion picnic in Heisler Park last Saturday.

The association hopes to grant four $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors and needs alumni to join the association to assist, says president Wendy Potter, who is recruiting new board members and volunteers. Advertising is accepted on the website www.lagunabeachalumni.com
