Club Joins #Giving Tuesday

Held annually, #Giving Tuesday aims to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity worldwide.

On Tuesday, Nov. 29, the Laguna Beach Boys and Girls Club will participate with hopes that residents support the organization and are inspired to collaborate in improving their local communities.

Musical Shabbat Service Returns

The musical team Jason Feddy and Rabbi-Cantor Marcia Tilchin lead a monthly Friday night

service in Laguna Beach that returns to Mozambique restaurant beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18.

Feddy, a radio host, cantorial soloist and musician, combines talents with Tilchin, founder and spiritual leader of the Jewish Collaborative of Orange County. (JCoOC).

It will be followed by an optional, pre-paid vegetarian dinner at 7:30 p.m. at $42 per person.

Republicans Fired Up Over Local Issues

Laguna Beach Republicans hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Mozambique restaurant, 1740 S Coast Hwy, starting with a 5 p.m. social hour.

President Emil Monda says topics will include the election results, the impact of heritage designation for homes, the city employee housing assistance perk, City Hall’s bi-monthly Friday closings and identifying candidates for 2018.

 

Date and Theme Decided for Patriot’s Day Parade

One America will be the theme of the next Patriot’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 4, organizers announced last week.

It celebrates the idea that the nation’s citizens come from all walks of life, says parade president Charles Quilter in a statement.

Jan. 9 is the deadline for advertising in the parade program, and Jan. 13 the cutoff for parade entries.

Borecki is a member of the Kaleidoscope Trio, an ensemble founded at USC to present concerts to students and underserved populations.

The trio performed a wide variety of music at their presentation at the club on Thursday, Nov. 10, from classical to jazz to Disney songs, and then went on to another genre-jumping performance at the museum.
