A Tustin man driving at about 80 mph on Coast Highway about 3 a.m. Sunday, June 10, lost control of his vehicle and went airborne, slamming into a tree and flipping several times before coming to rest near the White House restaurant, police said.

Firefighters treated cuts on the head of Josue Meza, 22, before cutting him out of the vehicle and transporting him to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, Lt. Jason Kravetz said. He was later arrested for DUI and absentee booked because he was admitted to the facility, Kravetz said.

The road was closed in both directions to clear a fallen tree and debris and reopened about 5 a.m, police said.
