Cyclists Pedal to Support AIDS Services

The third annual Orange County Ride for AIDS (OCRA), which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13, setting out and finishing at Laguna Beach’s Festival of Arts.

The 100-mile event begins with rider registration at 5:30 a.m. departure at 7 a.m. Taste of OCRA participants will leave at 11 a.m. The post-ride festival will begin at 2 p.m. and continue until 7 p.m.

Riders pay a $50 registration fee and are each responsible for raising a minimum of $250 to participate. Over the past two years, the event has raised over $215,000.

All funds raised serve the clients of Irvine’s AIDS Services Foundation. In addition to the services provided by the agency, funds will also be used to combat the spread of the disease through education and HIV-testing initiatives.
