The Superior Court has received far fewer applications to serve on the Grand Jury than in previous years and urges citizens to apply by Jan. 20 for the upcoming year.
Serving provides a unique opportunity to impact the lives of county residents. Jurors review and evaluate county and city agencies, schools, and special districts. Past reports have focused on timely issues such as the condition and management of Orange County jails, planning for statewide water shortages, and the child abuse index.
Requirements include citizenship, one year of residency in the county, fluency in English and be over 18. Applicants undergo a background check and are selected by a random draw/
