Dorothy Catherine Scott passed away peacefully on Jan. 12, 2016, at the age of 95.
Scott is survived by her two daughters, Susan Kollmansberger of Laguna Beach and Sherry Scott-Tyler of North Fort Myers, Fla.; two son-in-laws; two granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Archibald Dewar Scott.
Dorothy C. Scott was born on April 9, 1920, in Riverside, Calif. She graduated from Washburn University n Topeka, Kan., with a degree in French and history. She met her future husband, Archibald Dewar Scott, at a church social when she was in high school. They married in February 1945, just before he joined the Army Air Corp and was shipped out to fight WWII.
In 1966, Scott and her family moved to Laguna Beach to raise their two daughters. Scott was active for many, many years in the Assistance League of Laguna Beach.
A private memorial service will take place at Riverside National Cemetery, in Riverside. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Union Rescue Mission, 545 S. San Pedro St., Los Angeles, Calif., 90013.
