Thirty-three Laguna Beach Community Emergency Response Team members took part in the May 31 South County Drill. Jordan Villwock, the Laguna Beach Police Department’s emergency coordinator, heads up the Laguna Beach CERT program, and Karen Simmons and Sandi Cain began coordinating the Laguna team’s participation in the annual training exercise last March.
Mike Mitchell was a key member of the logistics team, and Lisa Broughton served as team leader for the search and rescue segment. Dave Sanders from Doctors Ambulance displayed a disaster-ready ambulance on site.
About 100 people attended the San Juan Capistrano event, now in its 12th year. Dana Point and San Clemente also participated.
