Parents are invited to attend a workshop on drug trends that will include a short film and three experts on Monday, May 12, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the high school quad and library.
A 13-minute film, “Overtaken,” will be shown alongside speakers Superior Court Judge John Adams, Deputy Sheriff Brian Gunsolley, and Mission Hospital’s emergency services medical director Mike Ritter.
“It is an epidemic, every bit as dangerous as a virulent disease,” Adams said of drug use.
Gunsolley will be discussing trends in use of E-cigarettes, drugs and alcohol.
Ritter will be reporting on the new drug trends showing up in the emergency department including what he describes as a heroin epidemic.
