Last year’s team Mountain Dudes captured the spotlight for costume creativity.

Who will dominate the dodging this year and bring home the coveted Golden Skull trophy? Whose creativity and zaniness will win best costume?

Find out at the sixth annual SchoolPower Dodgeball tournament, a favorite community fundraiser that brings together crazy costumed teams and cheering fans, on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Admission is free.

This year promises to be one of the biggest turnouts ever, with 24 teams in each of the fourth-fifth grade and sixth-eighth grade divisions, and 20 teams expected in the adult and high school division. Lifeguard, fire and police teams are expected to make their usual showing, along with teacher teams representing local schools.

Held in the high school gymnasiums, tournament play is from 3 to 9 p.m., starting with the elementary school players and finishing the evening with the highly-competitive adult and high school finale.

Tacos are available with advance purchase, please pre-order at lbschoolpower.org. Entry proceeds from the tournament co-organized by Frana Sadler benefits SchoolPower, which raises money for Laguna public schools.
