Author Nicole Gulotta will discuss her new book “Eat This Poem: A Literary Feast Inspired by Poetry” at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 9, at Laguna Beach Books, 1200 S. Coast Highway.

The 25 poems in the book from such poets as Marge Piercy, Louise Glück, Mark Strand, Mary Oliver, Billy Collins and Jane Hirshfield are accompanied by 75 recipes that bring the richness of words to life through our palate. A sample pairing: “How to Eat Alone” by Daniel Halpern and Moroccan roasted lamb with herb yogurt and couscous with kale and dill.

Gulotta received a master’s in fine arts from Vermont College of Fine Arts and studied literature at UC Santa Barbara. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son.
