Sawdust artist Jamie Bichler is set to host a jewelry-making class for spouses of active military personnel at Camp Pendleton in October.

In addition to learning jewelry-making techniques, participants will receive the jewelry tools and components needed to produce jewelry pieces and instructions on how to set up and market an Etsy store to help generate extra income.

The event is being organized by the Sawdust Art Enrichment Fund, which supports art education with hands-on experiences.

Kids Learn How to Keep Time

Local musician Jay Lawson put on a steel drum performance for the Boys and Girls Club, Monday, July 11.

The kids played along on percussion instruments, dancing and creating their own rhythms, topped off by a large game of limbo.

The free outdoor performance was presented by Laguna Beach Live! and supported by a $2,000 grant from the Festival of Arts Foundation.

Another summer concert is planned and in the fall Laguna Beach Live! returns to presenting weekly programs at the Club.
