Six finalists were selected from among 25 letters of interest by the city’s Art Commission for each of two public art projects as part of a beautification plan for Laguna’s Broadway Street.
The following finalists were selected: Alber & Luna De Matteis, John Barber, Marlo Bartels, Marsh Scott, Mike Tauber and Terry Thornsley intend to submit plans for a vertical sculpture and handrail; while Alber & Luna De Matteis, Jorg Dubin, Cheryl Ekstrom, Louis Longi, Marlo Bartels and Jon Seeman are competing for a sculpture commission.
The artists will develop proposals which will be presented to the commission at its meeting on Monday, June 25.
