After 10 years in business in Laguna Beach, Wendt Gallery will close its Coast Highway location this month, though maintain locations in New York, Vienna and Singapore.
”We will miss Laguna but will continue to work with our clients locally in an advisory capacity,” said Wendt Vice President Serina Manqueros.
She described the gallery’s decade in Laguna as a success, but that its operators have decided against renewing an expiring lease and will refocus on further expansion into the Asian marketplace.
Last month, Studio Arts Gallery announced it would close by month’s end. Another longtime gallery, the Esther Wells Collection shut in April.
This week, The New York Times reported that Asian art auctions are setting records.
