Indie Film Screened at Newport Festival

Indie film directors Eshom and Ian Nelms will speak prior to the screening of their new film, “Lost On Purpose,” by the Laguna Beach Film Society at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19 at South Coast Cinema.

The film starring Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer traces the story of a young San Joaquin Valley woman struggling to keep her third generation dairy farm out of the clutches of a farming conglomerate with the help of rowdy hired hands, two of whom are more interested in launching their band.

Tickets are $10 at the door ($5 for students), $20 for the 6 p.m. pre-film reception with directors at Laguna Art Museum.
