Bluegrass Is Coming Back

Laguna Beach Live! presents Prairie Sky, a contemporary bluegrass and acoustic music band, on Saturday, Sept. 15 for an afternoon of bluegrass and BBQ at Aliso Creek Inn and Golf Course, 31106 S. Coast Hwy. The concert begins at 4 p.m.

Concert tickets are $15 for adults in advance and $18 at the door; children, 12 and under, are $10 in advance and $13 at the door. Chairs are provided on the patio overlooking the first fairway and are unreserved. Reserved seating is available for a $75 VIP ticket that includes concert, BBQ, and a donation.

Dinner is $15 a person in advance and $18 at the door. Outside food and beverages are not permitted.

Laguna Beach Live! presents solo mandolinist Evan Marshall at the Laguna Art Museum on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m.

Classical music, bluegrass, and pop are fused through Marshall’s mandolin playing.

Admission is free to museum members. The concert is in the California Gallery and reservations are suggested.

The Newport Beach Public Library presents Jazz Brothers in the first of a series of Sunday Musicales that begin Sept. 8 at 3 p.m., 1000 Avocado Ave.

The event in the Central Library Friends Room is free and funded by the Friends of the Library. Admission is free.  Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
