Midweek Jazz Resumes With Vocalist

Jazz vocalist Kate Reid and her quartet will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Aliso Creek Inn, 31106 South Coast Hwy, part of Laguna Beach Live’s jazz series.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $12 online and $15 at the door. Reservations can be made online and are accepted until noon on day of the concert or until sold out.

Showing Set for Student-Made Short Film

Film fans that enjoy shorts will enjoy a treat on Thursday, Feb. 21 at South Coast Cinema when the Laguna Beach Film Society (airs seven short films produced by local film students.

These shorts display a variety of film story-telling styles, ranging from animation to documentary to short feature.

The films will screen at 7 p.m., preceded by a 6 p.m. wine and appetizer reception at Laguna Art Museum, where you can meet the filmmakers.

Tickets are $20 for wine and appetizer reception and movies; $10 at the door for the film alone, $5 for students and $8 presale at www.LagunaArtMuseum.org/LBFS.

Chandler to Describe Family Surfing History

The Surfing Heritage Foundation will host Harry Chandler who will talk and present slides and film clips on the surfing history of the Chandler family on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at 110 Calle Iglesia, San Clemente.  Chandler will also present his book “Dreamers in Dream City”.
