Chamber Musicians Pierce the Fourth Wall

Ruby Cheng, center, and student musicians perform chamber music in an intimate venue this Saturday, March 26.

The public is invited to Sonatasia, a special musical, vocal and dance performance in an architecturally distinctive private home, at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 26.

“Our concerts combine a variety of disciplines into a dynamic performance, which happens all around the space,” said producer David Parker, a Laguna Beach architect. “The ‘fourth wall’ is dissolved. The architecture becomes the theater.”

Sonatasia and Life’s Second Chance present “Think Of Me” with pianist Ruby Cheng, a Chapman University piano professor, violinist Eric Wuest, cellist Alisha Bauer, pianist Andrew Van Vlear, mezzo-soprano Megan Schuller-Donoff, soprano Molly Ann Tomlinson and dancer Celedon Wood. The program repertoire will include Mendelssohn, Shostakovich, Liszt and Andrew Lloyd Weber.

Parker promises gorgeous views, chamber music, songs, drama and dance as the performance unfolds at the Kramer residence. Directions will be provided after tickets

are purchased or reserved. Parking is available on the streets but the concert will take place on the second level with stair access only.

Suggested donation: $30. Tickets may be purchaced on line from the Sonatasia website

www.sonatasia.org.

There will be a silent auction to benefit Life’s Second Chance Foundation.
