Grammy Winners Gather to Support Blue Water and Radio

Several Grammy winning artists will perform from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 31 at the Cliff, 577 S. Coast Highway, in a fundraising concert benefitting Blue Water Green Earth and KX 93.5, the local radio station.

The confirmed performers already include Jonny Kaplan and Rami Jaffee, of the Foo Fighters and Wallflowers; Jesse Green, of the Foo Fighters; Sound City and Pink; Brad Smith and Christopher Thorn, of Blind Melon; and Dave Krusen, of Pearl Jam. Locals Trevor Green, Jason Feddy and Ray Weston, Alan Deremo and Thorcraft Cobra will open up the show. KX 93.5 DJ Mookie will be the eemcee.

The lineup for the Laguna Beach Live! Wednesday summer series in the Rose Garden of Hotel Laguna starts up with the Latin Jazz Syndicate, featuring Bijon Watson on trumpet, June 19.

The band is followed by Joey Sellers Quintet, featuring vocalist Adryon Gross on July 3; Rickey Woodard Quartet, July 17; Yve Evans & Company, July 31; Gilbert Castellanos Quartet, Aug. 14; and John Beasley Quartet on Aug. 28.

Reservations are available for all concerts and a season pass is an option at www.lagunabeachlive.org. Tickets are $15 online and $18 at the door. Doors open at 5 p.m. for the 6 p.m. concert.

 

Private Evening of Music Heard

Concert pianist Hershey Felder, known for creating the roles of George Gershwin, Fryderyk Chopin, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Leonard Bernstein, will provide an intimate evening of music on Wednesday, June 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at a private home in Shady Canyon.  Directions will be provided with ticket purchase.

Felder will provide guests with a sneak peek of his newest production on Franz Liszt.

Season-Long Art Festival Pass Available

A Passport to the Arts for $21.50 allows unlimited admission to Art-a-Fair, Festival of the Arts, and the Sawdust Festival from June 28 through Sept. 1.

The passport, which is available through a collaboration between the festivals and the Laguna Beach Visitors and Conference Bureau, also allows one-time free parking at ACT V in Laguna Canyon.

Passports purchased before the end of May automatically enter the holder in a drawing for a Laguna Beach fall getaway.
