Laguna Beach Live! presents “Beautiful Baroque! Flute and Harpsichord” featuring Florence and Robert Estrin at the Laguna Art Museum, 307 Cliff Dr. on Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m.

Live! at the Museum  takes place the second Thursday of each month and is free to museum members and to non-members with museum admission.

Shakespeare In the Park

“Shakespeare’s Fool” featuring Jason Feddy and John Gardiner along with weekly guests return in free concerts on Fridays, June 7, 14 and 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the amphitheater in Heisler Park, 375 Cliff Dr.

The performance will feature the songs and speeches from the plays of William Shakespeare.

 

Flutes Bend the Rules

The Laguna Flutes will participate in the “Re-Rite of Spring,” on Saturday, June 8 on outdoor plaza at the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center, 600 Town Center Dr, Costa Mesa. This is a free event that will feature musical events reminiscent of broken musical rules that occurred at the beginning of the 20th century with Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring,” which will be performed by the Pacific Symphony later in the evening at a ticketed concert.

The flutes will play at 5:30 p.m. as part of experimental music for flute as well as French jazz.

This event begins at 5 p.m. Other groups will include “Drawing Board,” Fourtunates Woodwind Quartet and Helix Collective.

Concert Evokes Majesty and Wonder

Laguna Presbyterian Church invites the community to attend a free concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9,  415 Forest Ave.

Performances include chancel, handbell and children’s choirs led by director Linda White. The performance will also feature organist Sookyung Bang and artwork by John Wilkerson.

 

Sister Returns to Roll the Dice

Laguna Playhouse brings back their favorite Sister in her all-new show, “Late Nite Catechism Las Vegas: Sister Rolls The Dice,” written and performed by Maripat Donovan and directed by Mark Silvia. The show being Tuesday, June 11 and runs through Sunday, June 23, at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Rd.

Folkdancers Tap Into World Music

Novice and experienced dancers are welcome to join Laguna Folkdancers’ weekly dance session Sunday, June 9, which features Joan Hantman teaching classic dances from Macedonia, 7-9:45 p.m. at Susi Q Center, 380 Third St.

Hantman was a featured teacher for Balkanfest at Pomona College in March.

Laguna Folkdancers will dance at the Neighborhood Congregational Church of Laguna on July 7.
