Besides mayor and former tavern owner, Kelly Boyd will add a new title to his repertoire when he conducts the Community Band in “God Bless America,” opening the 5:30 p.m. concert Monday, July 8 on the Festival of Arts’ grounds

Boyd’s love for music is well established in the culture he created at the Marine Room, which continues to host live performances under new ownership.

The concert will feature many well-known patriotic songs and soloists.

Taking the baton from Boyd, Ed Peterson will conduct the 65-member ensemble, assisted by Pete Fournier and Bill Nicholls.

Resident Lona Ingwerson will provide the concert’s narration.
