 Choreographers Showcase New Dances

The 8th annual National Choreographers Initiative will present its public performance at the Irvine Barclay Theater on July 30 at 8 p.m.

The process for the National Choreographers Initiative begins with a three-week rehearsal in the dance studios at UC Irvine, culminating in a public performance where choreographers and dancers showcase the four new dance works they have created.

Each choreographer is given complete freedom to choose the style and theme of the work. Since its inception in 2004, 28 choreographers have been invited to create new work and 17 of those works have gone on to be performed with various companies around the country. Tickets for the performance are $30 and can be purchased through http://[email protected] or at (949) 854-4646.
