Breakers continue to coast through the Orange Coast League extending their consecutive match win streak to 94 that dates back into their Pacific Coast League membership. The school mark is 105 on-the-court wins set between 1988 and 1999.

On Oct. 6 Laguna defeated Saddleback 25-1, 25-8, 25-9 as the team racked up 26 services aces, second most in a rally scoring era match since 2003. Callista Wulff took top honors with seven aces followed by Katelyn Carballo and Aspen Rocha with five each while Lauren LaMontagne recorded four. Cameron Dorn was the kill leader with 11 on 12 attempts.

Breakers had little trouble with the league’s number two team, defeating Estancia 25-19, 25-15, 25-20 on Thursday, Oct. 8 at Dugger Gym. Breakers substituted freely throughout the three-set match recording 14 services aces. Sage Patchell was kill leader with nine, Aspen Rocha ace leader with five and Lexi McKeown dig leader with 10.

This past Monday, third place Calvary Chapel provided little resistance as the Breakers prevailed 25-14, 25-9, 25-9 as Lexi McKeown had 10 kills, Sage Patchell five aces with seven digs to lead the team. The third set against the Eagles started with the squad scoring on their first 17 serves. Laguna closed out their first round of league play this past Wednesday at Godinez (6-9, 1-3) and will be on the road until Senior Night on Nov. 3 at Dugger Gym.
