Laguna opened their 42nd trip to the playoffs with an easy 25-4, 25-17, 25-17 romp over Valley Christian/Cerritos this past Tuesday night at Dugger Gym. The tone was set early as tough serving by Laguna was the key to the first set win. Katelyn Carballo dished out seven aces in that romp. After that the team was a little sloppy in finishing off the Crusaders in set two and three. Sage Patchell hit .500 with 12 kills while Cammie Dorn and Katelyn Carballo had 10 kills each for the match. Aspen Rocha dished out 28 assists as Laguna is now 41-1 in opening playoff games.

This past Thursday, the second round was with Arroyo Grande and if the Breakers win, quarterfinals would be Saturday. Check the results and schedule at www.cifss.org .
